Time Line

The Santa Rosa Tennis Club, originally formed in 1909 in the MacDonald section of Santa Rosa, was rejuvenated in 2012. As a result of the club's actions we:

From 2012 - 2017 senior members of SRTC conducted two cleanup parties per year, made minor repairs of the tennis facility and purchased replacement nets as needed.

2017:

With funding from SRTC and Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks Department resurfacing court 9 and 10 completed.
With individual funding efforts by Lorne Swanets and funds from Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks Department five courts at Howard Park were resurfaced including four pickle ball courts.

2016:

With funding from SRTC and Celebrate Community resurfacing of Courts 1-4 completed
Congratulations Santa Rosa Tennis Club! In recognition of our 2016 accomplishments the USTA has selected the SRTC again as the Northern California Community Tennis Association of the Year!

Award12015:

Received a $10,000 Legacy Grant from Celebrate Community for the resurfacing of Galvin Courts 1-4.
In July remaining $5,500 raised from members' contributions to fully fund the resurfacing of courts 1-4.
With funding from Carol Stoye two new player benches purchased and installed.

2014:

Courts 5 & 6 were rebuilt and courts 7, 8, 11 & 12 were resurfaced with received grants of $12,000 and $1000 from the USTA and NorCal USTA.

2013:

Established a Quick Start Tennis Program with Tennis Pro Jason Beard for tennis players 10 years of age and younger.
Purchased permanent benches on courts 1-4 and 7 new trash cans for the tennis facility.
In recognition of the clubs accomplishments in 2013 the USTA awarded the SRTC  the Northern California Community Tennis Association of the Year plaque.

Congratulations Santa Rosa Tennis Club! In recognition of our 2012 accomplishments the USTA has selected the SRTC to be the Northern California Community Tennis Association of the Year! Our Secretary Linda Weathers and Treasurer Elisa Scheinberg accepted the award on behalf of SRTC.

Santa Rosa Tennis Club also received the 2012 Community Service Award presented by the City of Santa Rosa Parks and Recreation.  Thank you SR Rec & Parks for this recognition and thank you for support our goals of improving the courts and community tennis at Galvin Park.
